Recently, the Ethiopian Addis Ababa Waste Incineration Power Plant (1200 tons / day) project was officially put into operation. The project is the first waste-to-energy plant in Africa. The core equipment of waste incinerator designed and manufactured independently by Sanfeng Environment is another important milestone for “Made in China” to go abroad.

Sanfeng environmental protection equipment assembly base workers are disassembling the debugged garbage incinerator.

Prepare centralized packing workers to install on the grate frame.

Urban waste contains a lot of organic matter, which itself can breed germs and pollute the environment, but they also contain energy. If used for burning, it can turn waste into treasure and supply electricity to the city. The remaining residue in the incineration is only 20% of the original weight of the waste, and it is non-toxic and harmless, and it is very simple to handle. During the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" period, China has invested heavily in the construction of waste-to-energy plants. So far, nearly 300 have been built, and accumulated rich technology and experience in the field of waste-to-energy, and the level of localization has been continuously improved. From the very beginning, relying entirely on foreign experience, until now, companies like the Sanfeng environment have their own technology and standards and can “go out”. In September 2014, the Ethiopian government decided to invest 100 million US dollars to build a Leipzig waste-to-energy plant, which was built by a Chinese company.

This is a power plant that processes 1,280 tons of domestic garbage per day, and can completely digest the garbage collected by the current city's sanitation system in Addis Ababa. The Leipzig Wastewater Power Plant has two 25-megawatt steam turbine generators with a total installed capacity of 50 megawatts, equivalent to the level of a medium-sized thermal power plant, which can effectively alleviate the city of Addis Ababa. With the use of electric power, it can be said that it is "turning waste into treasure" in the true sense.
The Ethiopian Power Company is very recognized for its experience and technology in the Leipzig power plant made in China. In the future, this project will form a demonstration effect in Africa, providing a healthier new strategy for urbanization in Africa, bringing a cleaner living space for the urban population expected to reach 1 billion in Africa in 2050.
